Have you ever felt like the teenage version of Drew Barrymore in Never Been Kissed? Editor’s note: If you haven’t seen the 90’s movie, it’s okay. It wasn’t exactly a huge box office hit - which may be why I enjoyed it so much. Ya, I know, check out my bio - I’m a little nerdy that way. The truth is, I love happy endings, even if the movie is a little corny!
For those who haven’t seen it, I’ll give you a quick synopsis. Drew Barrymore’s character, Josie, is an awkward 20-something copy editor who has never had a date and, hence the title, has never been kissed. During a scene, we flashback to her senior year in high school, where the most popular boy in her class invites her to go to the prom. Unfortunately, on prom night, he not only stands her up for the dance, but does a drive-by involving eggs being thrown at her face.
Why am I giving you a movie analogy for a business blog? Here’s the thing. We’ve all been Josie at one time or another. We’ve all had that ‘popular’ company come in promising us the moon and the stars if we’ll just give them a chance. We, trusting them, take a leap of faith, allowing them into our business - only to be stood up or treated like we aren’t a big enough client for them to bother with. That hurts. Not just our feelings or even our egos, but it hurts our bottom line. We not only wasted money on these jokers, but valuable time and energy too.
So how do we know the real deal when it comes along? How can we make sure we find our very own Mr. Coulson? (Spoiler alert: he’s a super nice, good looking teacher who falls in love with Josie and gives her, her very first kiss. Told you it had a happy ending!) For starters, you can contact referrals and request one-on-one meetings with multiple members of the company. Insist you get to know the company culture, not just the salesman.
I’m proud to work for a company who recognizes the importance of our clients and the value of earning their trust, respect, and ultimately their business. At Networks Plus, our customers aren’t just treated like family – they are family. We won’t leave you standing all alone with egg on your face. Your company is as important to us as it is to you.
We take time to get to know you and your entire organization. We don’t just encourage face-to-face meetings; we insist on it. The best way for us to get to know one another is by sitting down and talking. We also introduce you to the key players you would be working with, if you selected us for your IT solutions. Trust and respect is built by getting to know each other. That is important to us. You are important to us.
We encourage you to reach out to our current clients. Don’t take our word for it. Talk to our clients and find out why they love us and why they trust us with their most precious company assets – their data.
Next time you are faced with a big decision of who to hire for IT and data services, please reach out to us. We would love to discuss possible solutions for your company. Like all happy endings, we want to build a lasting relationship with you. We enjoy spending time with our clients outside of the office, where we can get to know you even better. Meaning, we’d love for you to join us for a round of golf, a local theatre production, or even a trip to the zoo.
We know IT and data services – now we want to get to know you!
